Some website does a book club of every volume. Obviously contains massive spoilers:
http://techland.com/tag/bryan-lee-omalley/

Also this is quite a good commentary on Young Neil (also obvious spoilers): http://www.savagecritic.com/abhay/abhay ... -volume-5/

I really need to read this more carefully sometime.

Got tickets to a preview showing of this on Thursday. Will report back, although it's getting pretty positive reviews:

Even though I have my reservations about SP, this really shocked me:

This is why print media is dying. I mean, I can read that sort of shit on the internet. Actually, I just did read exactly that shit on the internet. Which is technically probably why print is dying (although I do subscribe to the Economist because its analysis is worth a damn in a world where raw news is free).

Going by the response and the trailers, I suspect my dad would get the film. He was in a band and played old videogames and was a 20-something guy, so I suspect that at least some of it would resonate. Maybe the aging arts graduates that probably make up the body of film critics were just rubbed up the wrong way. But like he says, that's no excuse to lose your critical faculties.

EDIT: Although the rebuttal in the New York Post article comments is also written by a fucking tool.

I'm going to start counting how many times you say this.

The critics in question are presumably over 40 and slightly up themselves. What can you do? And to be fair I really wouldn't want this film to be representative of Generation Y or whatever it is now.

It's in the big list of things I have to say repeatedly otherwise my brain dies. But yeah, sorry.

Out of interest, what would be? Something like American Pie? Not that I'm disagreeing, I'm just curious if we have a "defining" film.

I dunno, does any generation? It'd all depend on who you ask really.

Pop quiz, hotshot?

As for the defining film of the generation, well, clearly it is Outlaw.
